Dieter Gogg

Dieter Gogg (born April 15, 1938 in Leoben ; † August 2, 2000 in Graz ) was an Austrian cabaret artist , composer , writer , chansonnier , scriptwriter and radio writer .

Life

Gogg studied piano and composition at the Conservatory of the City of Klagenfurt and won a youth composition competition. From 1954 to 1956 he directed a jazz combo, in 1958 he founded the student cabaret "Der Würfel" with Kuno Knöbl , Gerhard Steffen , Udo Simonitsch and other fellow students, where he worked as a composer, author and piano accompanist. In addition, he wrote a weekly glossary in the " Kleine Zeitung " in 1960/61 as well as chansons for Austrian radio .

In 1961 he went to Vienna with the “Würfel” and, after a guest performance at the “New Theater am Kärntnertor” , was engaged by its director Gerhard Bronner (1961 to 1963). Bronner's house ensemble consisted of Gogg, Eva Pilz , Is Franke , Miriam Dreifuss , Gerhard Steffen , Erich Frank, Felix Dvorak , Kuno Knöbl , Peter Orthofer and Peter Lodynski . From 1963 he was the author, composer and piano accompanist of the new "Würfel" in the Viennese Café Savoy. The program "Verschlampt in All Eternity" was played 180 times in front of a sold out house. He also worked as a répétiteur at the Vienna Volkstheater , wrote a weekly glossary for the daily newspaper "Neues Österreich", wrote television scripts for ORF and ZDF together with Hugo Wiener and Peter Lodynski and wrote a. a. Text and music for the Graz cabaret ensembles “Die Tellerwäscher” and “Der Hammer”.

From 1966 Gogg lived in Graz as a lyricist, composer, piano accompanist and director for the ORF regional studio, as well as a lyricist and composer for Viennese and Graz cabarets; Since 1986 he has been the author, composer and interpreter at the piano for “Die Gal (l) eristen” or “Cabaret in the Galerie Moser”, and in the 1990s he also appeared in the “Cabaret in the Landhauskeller”. He wrote text and music for the cabaret productions of the Graz Schauspielhaus "Double Bells Better" (1992) and "Puddles of Society" (1993).

Gogg came up with numerous scripts for TV productions (" Muliar - Show", " Guten Abend am Saturday ", "Jahrmarkt", "Cabaret - Cabaret" and many others) as well as contributions for the radio magazine "Hörbar" of the WDR and composed the song cycle "Songs from Theresienstadt ”. In 1982, the book "Only who knows television" (True satires and satirical truths) was published by Styria - Verlag . Between 1971 and 2000 Dieter Gogg wrote a daily glossary as "Amanda Klachl" in the " Kleine Zeitung ", which made him popular and popular across the region. Dieter Gogg died on August 2, 2000 in Graz.

Dieter Gogg's son Moritz Gogg is an opera singer and a member of the ensemble of the Hamburg State Opera . His daughter is a freelance actress and lives in Berlin.
