Dieter Hintelmann

Dieter Walter Hintelmann (born October 13, 1948 in Drochtersen ) is a retired German colonel . D. the armored infantry troops of the German armed forces . During the riots in Kosovo in 2004 , he was leader of the 8th German KFOR contingent and deputy commander of the multinational brigade. He was succeeded in this role by Erhard Bühler , then commander of the 12th Panzer Brigade .

Hintelmann attended the Cooperative Comprehensive School Drochtersen . As an officer, among other things, at the end of the 1970s he was chief of the 4th company of the 73rd Panzer Grenadier Battalion in the Hinrich-Wilhelm-Kopf barracks in Cuxhaven . In the rank of lieutenant colonel , he was from May 9, 1996 to December 18, 1999, school commander of the Army NCO School  I in the Lützow barracks in Münster - Handorf and later commander at the Ebern site in the Balthasar Neumann barracks, where he was when the imminent closure of the site became known ordered that everything that was reminiscent of Panzergrenadierbataillon 101 or 103 be collected in the companies. The exhibits formed the basis for a traditional museum opened in the former barracks. Hintelmann was the last of the eleven commanders of the battalion, which was finally disbanded in September 2009. In 2003 he was deputy commander and chief of staff of the 41st Panzer Grenadier Brigade .

After his retirement on October 31, 2008, he was active as a local politician ( CDU ) in Altenberge .
