location

The nature reserve is located in the natural areas of the Mittlere Kuppenalb and Mittlereflächealb . It is located on the plateau of the Swabian Alb about 1500 meters northwest of the Genkingen district of the Sonnenbühl community . It is part of the FFH area No. 7620-343 Albtrauf between Mössingen and Gönningen and the bird sanctuary No. 7422-441 Middle Swabian Alb . The nature reserve lies entirely in the Swabian Alb biosphere area .

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of the extensively used high meadow with a large number of rare, endangered, warmth and drought-loving plant species, the fauna closely related to the plant communities and the cultural-historical importance of the single-mowered meadow as a remnant of earlier management methods.

Toadflax ( Linaria vulgaris )

The orchid species Male Orchid , Little Orchid and Brandy Orchid occur at the site . Various gentians and the small grape hyacinth can also be found.
