Dijana Ravnikar
Dijana Ravnikar (born June 4, 1978 in Rijeka as Dijana Grudiček ) is a Slovenian biathlete and cross-country skier of Croatian origin.
Ravnikar from TSK Jub Dob Prii Ljubljani has been involved in biathlon since 2000 . The student from Čavle has been a member of the Slovenian national team for just as long . Before 2000 she was a cross-country skier and started for her native Croatia. At the Junior World Championships in Asiago in 1996 , she was 58 over 5-kilometer classic. A year later she finished 38th in Canmore over this distance and was also 46th in the 15-kilometer freestyle. This was followed by further assignments in FIS races and in the Continental Cup. The first big highlight was the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau , where the Croatian was 57th over 5-kilometer classic, reached 52nd place in the pursuit and was 49th over 30-kilometer classic. The following season she switched from cross-country skiing to biathlon and her citizenship from Croatia to Slovenia.
She made her biathlon world cup debut in 2000 in an individual in Hochfilzen (97th). Although she was never placed in the top 60 within the next two years, she was called up for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . In the individual, she was 57th and was the first time in the top 60, with the relay she even came in sixth. It took a while before she finished 27th in the points in a pursuit in Pokljuka . Your best season should be 2005/06. She achieved her best individual results up to 2008 as eleventh in a pursuit race and twelfth in a mass start in Kontiolahti and was third in a World Cup race in Oberhof with the Slovenian relay . In the 2007/08 season , these results were exceeded with an eighth place in the pursuit in Ruhpolding and undercut again in Pyeongchang with seventh place in the sprint.
Grudicek has been taking part in biathlon world championships in Pokljuka since 2001 . In individual races she was initially unable to achieve any results worth mentioning, but with the relay she often achieved good placements. The best result was a fourth relay place at the Biathlon World Championships 2003 in Antholz . After the Games in Salt Lake City Dijana Grudicek took in 2006 one more time in the Olympic Games of Turin part. In the individual she reached a good 20th place, with the relay she was sixth. At the Biathlon World Championships in 2008 in Östersund , she reached tenth place in the sprint and eleventh place in the pursuit, making it one of the world's best. Dijana Grudiček-Ravnika took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. Her best result was 35th place in the individual. With the relay she finished eighth.
After finishing her career after the Olympic Games in 2010, she returned to the Slovenian World Cup team in 2013 in Antholz and finished 85th in the sprint there.
