Dino Toppmöller (born November 23, 1980 in Wadern ) is a German soccer coach and former soccer player . The soccer coach Klaus Toppmöller is his father.

Career

In his career so far, Toppmöller has played 31 regional league games with six goals and 128 professional games in the 2nd Bundesliga , in which he scored 20 goals. He played in the 2005/06 season for the regional division SSV Jahn Regensburg . On August 12, 2006 he was signed with the Offenbacher Kickers . In September 2008 he received a one-year contract with the second division club FC Augsburg , meanwhile without a club after the Kickers were relegated . On April 7, 2009, he was released for private reasons.

After a trial session in November 2009, he was committed during the winter break of the 2009/10 season by the Luxembourg first division club and series champion F91 Dudelange for the second half of the season. From July 2010 he played in the sixth class Rhineland League at FSV Salmrohr , where he was also the team captain . In the Rhineland league season 2010/11 he rose with the FSV Salmrohr with 18 points ahead of the SV Mehring in the Oberliga Südwest . In addition, Toppmöller was the top scorer in the Rhineland League with 36 goals. In the following league season 2011/12 he was again top scorer with 25 goals.

After disagreements with coach Patrick Klyk at the end of September 2012, Toppmöller decided to leave the club and the contract was dissolved. In December 2012, he and his brother Tommy joined the SV Mehring league club . From then on, he worked as a playing assistant coach with Robert Jung . After Jung's resignation, he assumed sole responsibility; Relegation was secured on the last day of the match. He left SV Mehring in January 2014.

In the 2014/15 season, Toppmöller switched to the Luxembourg second division club and first division relegated FC RM Hamm Benfica as a player- coach . After a year in the second division, RM Hamm rose again to the BGL Ligue . In the end, Toppmöller's team prevailed over city rivals RFCU Luxembourg . On the penultimate game day he scored a hat trick against FC Monnerich (final score 4: 0). After the league with Hamm Benfica was achieved early in the following season, Toppmöller switched to national champion F91 Dudelange as coach for the 2016/17 season and led the club to a triple of championship, cup and league cup victory in its first season. In the 2017/18 season he was again Luxembourg champion with the team. He and the team then qualified for the group stage of the 2018/19 Europa League . After winning the new triple the next season, it was announced that he would be leaving the F91. Just four days later, the Belgian second division promoted Royal Excelsior Virton announced the commitment, his contract is valid until 2021. On December 2, 2019, Excelsior Virton Toppmöller announced the resignation from the coaching post.

Toppmöller then took part in a DFB course to acquire the UEFA Pro coaching license and received it at the beginning of August 2020. On July 20, 2020 he was introduced as assistant coach at RB Leipzig .
