Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (Engl. "To rotate dirt cheap Krumme Dinger ") is the second international and third Australian studio album by the Australian hard rock band AC / DC , which was published in September 1976 in Australia and in December 1976 in Europe. The album is included in "AC / DC Remasters", the new edition of Epic's albums, in which all AC / DC albums have been digitally edited.

background

The Australian original version of the album on Albert Productions is noticeably different from the European version. The album has a different cover and partly contains different pieces and a different order of titles. On the international edition, the pieces RIP (Rock in Peace) and Jailbreak were replaced by the pieces Rocker and Love at First Feel . The piece Love at First Feel was never released on an AC / DC album in Australia (but later as a single). Although the international version was released in Europe by Atlantic Records , the album did not appear in the US for years. It was only after the success of Highway to Hell in 1979 that both the international and Australian versions of the album began to be imported into the USA. Due to the high demand, Atlantic finally authorized the publication in the USA.

Two tracks on the international album have been edited from the Australian original. On the track Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap the title of the song is repeated four times in the chorus, on the edited version only twice. Ain't No Fun was shortened from 7:29 to 6:57 minutes. On a CD from 1994 remastered by Atco Records , however, the pieces were released in their original length; the 2003 CD edition by Epic Records uses the edited versions again. With Ain't No Fun (Waiting Round to Be a Millionaire) the album combines the longest and with Big Balls - after Get It Hot from the album Highway to Hell - the shortest song of the group's studio album on one album.

The Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap sessions recorded another track by Angus and Malcolm Young's older brother, Alex Young. The track "I'm a Rebel" has not yet been published. The German metal band Accept covered this song in 1980 on their second album, which was entitled I'm a Rebel . The songwriter was given as a certain George Alexander, which is a pseudonym of Alex Young (brother of Angus and Malcolm Young).

The title of the album comes from the comic series Beany and Cecil, where the villain, Dishonest John, a business card with the imprint: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Holidays, Sundays and Special Rates .

The other five songs - above all Love at First Feel and Big Balls - are not exactly from bad parents, but not as well known as the four highlights mentioned, which every AC / DC fan can whistle along in their sleep.
