Mark Evans
Mark Whitmore Evans (born March 2, 1956 in Melbourne , Victoria, Australia ) is an Australian bassist and was a member of the hard rock band AC / DC from 1975 to 1977 .
Career
Evans joined AC / DC through a newspaper ad in 1975 and played bass guitar for three albums from then on . In 1977 he got out again and was replaced by Cliff Williams . Evans had his first appearance with the band on April 1, 1976 in Australia, his last probably on April 29, 1977 in Offenbacher Stadthalle (Germany).
His time at AC / DC
Within the band, Evans was often called the “Sandman” because he had a habit of falling asleep immediately after a concert on the tour bus. He was on friendly terms within the band with Phil Rudd and Bon Scott .
