TNT is the second music album by the Australian hard rock band AC / DC . It was released exclusively in Australia on Albert Productions ( EMI ) in December 1975 . In the following year, however, seven songs from the LP were released together with two tracks from the Australian debut album High Voltage , which was also only released in Australia in early 1975, as a compilation also internationally on Atco Records (Atlantic). High Voltage was chosen as the album title , although the composition of the songs is more like TNT's track list . The two songs Rocker and School Days were omitted; in return, Little Lover and She's Got Balls from AC / DC's first LP were added. The title Rocker appeared on the international market in late 1976 on Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap .
background
Like the previous album and debut High Voltage , TNT's songs are still very much influenced by the blues and typical rock 'n' roll of the 1950s. The LP was produced by Harry Vanda and George Young . Texts and music for seven of the nine titles come from Angus Young , Malcolm Young and Bon Scott . Can I Sit Next to You Girl was written by the Young brothers and is a remake of AC / DC's first single two years earlier, on which Dave Evans had sung the lead vocals, School Days is a song by Chuck Berry and therefore a cover version .
In 1994 TNT was also released on CD with two differences from the 1975 original. The title Rocker originally closes abruptly at the climax of the guitar riff, while it fades out earlier on the CD. In the original, High Voltage went seamlessly into the next Song School Days . However, the CD fades out High Voltage beforehand and thereby separates the two tracks. TNT is the only album by the group that has never officially been released internationally, but is still partly offered outside of Australia.

reception
The track High Voltage was released as a single in Australia in 1975 and reached the top 10 of the charts there. The B-side was Soul Stripper from the first AC / DC album. The second single TNT was released with the B-side rocker . It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll) b / w Can I Sit Next to You Girl was also a hit in Australia as the third and final single from the album. As re-releases on Atlantic, the two singles High Voltage and It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll) also made the Top 75 in Great Britain in June 1980.
Allmusic noted " TNT was a stellar album in its own right, and especially crucial in that it marked AC / DC's definitive break with their now seemingly heretical glam rock inclinations, in order to embrace the blue collar hard rock hat would forever after be their trademark . “And awarded 4 out of 5 stars. The user rating was even half a point higher.
