history
Originally the place was called Treppersdorf. The name Dishley was given to the place at the end of the 18th century at the suggestion of the Councilor Johann August Schlettwein as a reminder of his stay in England and Dishley Grange, a homestead in Dishley / Leicestershire , where the farmer Robert Bakewell (1725-1795) was the first selective Breeding carried out in livestock. His findings improved the results in sheep , cattle and horses.
Schlettwein's wife and her sister acquired the estates of Beseritz and Dahlen for 86,000 thalers in 1783 . In 1793 Schlettwein's sister-in-law ceded her share to the Schlettwein couple, who expanded the farm and built the single-storey manor house with a crooked hip roof at the end of the 18th century. After her death, the daughter, from whom the previous tenant von Pleetz, the widow Hellwig, bought the estate Dahlen with Dishley in 1806. In 1817 the property passed to Baron von Langermann and Erlenkamp and later to various owners. On April 1, 1937 Dishley was incorporated into Ramelow .
Like many other estates after 1945, Dishley was divided up as part of the land reform. On July 1, 1950, Dishley was reclassified from Ramelow to the community of Schwanbeck . The manor house was used to accommodate many displaced refugees, later until 1993 for residential purposes. From the mid-1950s to 1992 there was a grocery store and a post office in the manor from 1956 to 1982. The salon at that time was used as a cultural space for the place. In 1997 the community of Schwanbeck sold it. In 2004 the community of Schwanbeck was dissolved and its districts incorporated into Friedland.
