The Estique Pampa district is located in the Tarata Province in the Tacna region in southwestern Peru . The district was established on January 12, 1956. It has an area of 148 km². The 2017 census counted 175 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 154, in 2007 it was 412. The district administration is located in the 3050 m high town of Estique Pampa with 172 inhabitants (as of 2017). Estique Pampa is located 7 km south of the provincial capital Tarata .
Geographical location
The Estique Pampa district is located on the southern flank of the Cordillera Volcánica in the southeast of the Tarata province. The Río Sayllana, left tributary of the Río Sama , runs along the northeastern district boundary to the west.
The Estique Pampa district is bordered to the northwest by the Héroes Albarracín district , to the northeast by the Tarucachi district , to the east by the Estique district and to the southwest and west by the districts of Alto de la Alianza and Inclán (both in the Tacna province ).
