The Pallanchacra district is located in the Pasco province in the Pasco region in central Peru . The district was founded on November 14, 1959 and has an area of ​​72.6 km². The 2017 census counted 1,841 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 2723, in 2007 it was 4153. The district administration is located in the 3115  m high village of Pallanchacra with 708 inhabitants (as of 2017). Pallanchacra is located 30 km north of the provincial and regional capital Cerro de Pasco .

Geographical location

The Pallanchacra district is located in the Peruvian Central Cordillera in the north of the Pasco province. The Río Tingo flows through the district in a northerly direction and flows into the north-flowing upper reaches of the Río Huallaga at the northeastern border of the district .

The Pallanchacra district is bordered to the southwest by the Santa Ana de Tusi district ( Daniel Alcides Carrión province ), to the northwest and north by the San Francisco and San Rafael districts (both in the Ambo province ), to the east by the Huariaca district and to the southeast to the district of San Francisco de Asís de Yarusyacán .
