The Paranday district is located in the Otuzco Province in the La Libertad region in western Peru . The district was established on April 28, 1959. It has an area of ​​22.1 km². The 2017 census counted 555 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 641 and in 2007 it was 689. The district administration is located in the 3141  m high village of Paranday with 148 inhabitants (as of 2017). Paranday is 16 km west of the provincial capital Otuzco .

Geographical location

The Paranday district is located in the west of the Otuzco province. The Río La Cuesta flows south along the eastern district boundary and drains the area towards the Río Moche .

The Paranday district is bordered by the Simbal district ( Trujillo Province ) to the west, the Sinsicap district to the north and the La Cuesta district to the east and south .
