Ditmar & Urban - according to older sources Dietrich & Urban - was a manufacturer of automobiles from Austria .

Company history

From June 14, 1919, Rudolf Mansuet Ditmar ran a car dealership at Wielandgasse 6 in Graz and in 1924 was the general agent for Automobili Aurea at Zimmerplatzgasse 1 in Graz. Together with Otto Urban, he founded the company on January 31, 1924. The seat was at Schönaugasse 102 in Graz. In that year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was DU . On November 14, 1925, the company was dissolved and deleted from the trade and cooperative register on June 18, 1927. Older sources give the year 1914 as the only year of production.

vehicles

Only one model was on offer. A four-cylinder engine with side-controlled valves propelled the vehicles. The engine developed 22 HP or 30 HP from a displacement of 1460 cm³, depending on the source .

A vehicle of this brand has been preserved. It was on display in 2003 at the Poysdorf Oldtimer Club & Museum in Poysdorf .

The vehicle has been owned by the Association for the Promotion of Historic Vehicles of the Austrian Automobile Manufacturers since 2013 and has been carefully restored. After the work was completed, the vehicle was presented in Graz in August 2018.
