Custoca Fiberglass Austria , previously Custoca Kunststoffkarosserien , was a manufacturer of automobiles from Austria .

Company history

Gerhard Höller founded Custoca Kunststoffkarosserien in Leoben in 1968 and began producing automobiles in 1970. The brand names were Custoca and initially Strato for one model. In 1974 the name was changed to Custoca Fiberglass Austria and the company moved to Kraubath an der Mur. Production ended in 1986. In 1994 the company was dissolved.

A source from the 1970s states that around 50 copies were made annually at the time.

The first Amigo model was a VW buggy . A further developed version of the Strato coupé was called the Taifun . The Hurrycane (also hurricane) was similar to the Ford GT 40 . All models were based on the chassis of the VW Beetle and thus had a rear engine. Various engines from VW and VW-Porsche were available for the drive . The vehicles were also available as kit cars .

Brand name Strato

The Strato was a special case in that it was initially offered under the brand name Strato . It was similar to the Lamborghini Marzal . Alois Barmettler from Switzerland manufactured this model under license as the Albar Jet .
