Omid Djalili
Omid Djalili ( Persian امید جلیلی, Born September 30, 1965 in the London borough of Chelsea , United Kingdom ) is a British film actor and comedian of Iranian descent.
Life
Djalili, the son of an Iranian reporter and a British fashion designer, began working as a comedian at a young age. Nevertheless, he studied at the University of Ulster in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, and graduated in English and theater studies .
Omid Djalili has been married since 1992 and has three children with his wife Annabel. He grew up in a Baha'i family and today as a Baha'i is committed to a lively cultural coexistence of religions.
Career
By his own account country's only stand-up comedian, he understands it well, to Islam and himself (he is from the body stature rather short and stocky) to satirize . He is one of the few British comedians who are also in great demand internationally. His tour went through countries such as Australia , Ireland , Germany , Austria , the Netherlands , Denmark , Sweden , Norway , Switzerland , the Czech Republic , Slovakia and the United States .
He has won many awards, including the 1997 LWT Comedy Award for his best stand-up program.
Djalili is also active as an actor and has played mostly southern and, not least thanks to his talent, humorous characters in many feature films.
In 2007 he shot the comedy show The Omid Djalili Show for BBC One and the sequel The Omid Djalili Show - Series 2 in 2009 .
On July 20, 2009 Djalili took on the role of Fagin in the new production of the hit musical "Oliver!" In London by his colleague Rowan Atkinson and was there until December 12, 2009 from Monday to Saturday. In the video game Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony , released in late October 2009, Djalili dubbed the role of Yusuf Amir .
