Domingo Tibaduiza

Domingo Tibaduiza ( Domingo Tibaduiza Reyes ; born November 22, 1949 ) is a former Colombian long-distance runner .

As a track runner , he won gold over 10,000 m at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1974 and over 5,000 m at the Pan American Games in 1975 and set numerous national records.

At the beginning of the 1980s, he switched to the marathon distance . In 1981 he finished second in the Montreal Marathon in 2:12:23. The following year he finished second in the San Francisco Marathon and won the Berlin Marathon . In 1983 he was fourth in the Stockholm and eighth in the New York City Marathon .

Further successes in road races are victories at the Corrida Internacional de São Silvestre (1977), the Darmstadt city run (1978) and at the night of Borgholzhausen (1980).

Tibaduiza took part in the Olympic Games four times: in 1972 in Munich he was eliminated in the 10,000 m heats, and in Montreal in 1976 in the 5000 and 10,000 m heats. In 1980 in Moscow he gave up in the preliminary run over 10,000 m and took 17th place in the marathon, in 1984 in Los Angeles he dropped out over 10,000 m in the preliminary run and did not reach the marathon.
