Night from Borgholzhausen
The night of Borgholzhausen is a city run in Borgholzhausen that has been taking place since 1976 and is organized by TuS Solbad Ravensberg (from 1995: LC Solbad Ravensberg). It is one of the oldest and busiest street races in Germany. Originally the race was ten miles (16,090 m); This distance has been offered as a fun run since 2001 , while the elite started the final night main run over five miles (8045 m).
In 2008, the popular and main run were merged into one run of six English miles.
After the 2013 event, the LC Solbad Ravensberg announced the end of the event after the main organizer Friedhelm Boschulte had retired for reasons of age. After a new event committee had been formed within the club, however, a continuation of the "night" as a 10 km run for June 14, 2014 was announced.
The program also includes a company run over 5 km (also for walkers ), three school runs (1.6 km for primary school students / 3 km for secondary schools) and a Bambini run (without timing). In addition, the Referees-Run is integrated into the main run, Germany's only running event especially for soccer referees, which will experience its 10th edition in 2014 and will bring more than 200 referees to Borgholzhausen.
The routes are circular routes through the city. The 10 km run runs over 3 laps.
