Gabriela Wolf ( Gabriela Petra "Gaby" Wolf ; born October 28, 1960 in Schwerte ) is a former German long-distance runner who specialized in marathons .

She made her debut as a 19-year-old in 1980 in Dülmen , where she achieved a time of 2:51:32 h.

In 1982 she was fifth in the German marathon championship together with the LAV Dortmund team champion and third in the Frankfurt marathon in 2:41:29 h. The following year she was team champion again in third place in the championship and came fifth in the Frankfurt Marathon in 2:38:56 h. In 1984 a second place followed for the German champion, the third team title in a row and another leap in performance at the Frankfurt Marathon, in which she came second in 2:34:41 hours.

At the IAAF World Cup marathon in 1985, she crashed at kilometer 25 and gave up. At the Berlin Marathon she was fourth as the best German. In 1986 she was seventh in the Houston Marathon , second in the German Championship, third in the Hamburg Marathon , won the Rhine-Ruhr Marathon and was eleventh in the New York City Marathon . In 1987 she finished ninth in the IAAF World Cup marathon, won over 10 English miles on the night of Borgholzhausen and came 23rd at the World Athletics Championships in Rome .

The following year she was seventh in the Osaka Women's Marathon in 2:34:32 h and third in the Hamburg Marathon in 2:31:56 h, which also made her third in the German Championship, and repeated her victory in Borgholzhausen. At the Olympic Games in Seoul , she finished 27th in 2:35:11 h.

In 1989 she was third in the Osaka Women's Marathon in 2:31:45 h, at the same time her personal record and the German best time of the year. In 1990 she became the overall winner of the Red Cross Marathon in Karlsruhe, German marathon champion in 2:36:47 h.

After a baby break, she returned to competition in 1992, came second in the Hanover Marathon , won the Hamburg Marathon and came ninth in the Tokyo International Women's Marathon . At the Half Marathon World Championships in Newcastle / South Shields , which took place as part of the Great North Run , she came in 41st place. After she defended her title in Hamburg the following year and finished 20th in the IAAF World Cup marathon held as part of the San Sebastián Marathon , she ended her career.

The trained specialist saleswoman first started for SG Eintracht Engste, from 1981 to 1988 for LAV Dortmund and finally for LG Olympia Dortmund .
