Amane Gobena

Amane Gobena (born November 9, 1982 ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

At the Cross Country World Championships she was on the short distance in 2002 in Dublin eighth and 2004 in Brussels eleventh.

In 2005 she won the night of Borgholzhausen . In 2007 she was second in the Cooper River Bridge Run, in 2008 she was second in Freihofer's Run for Women and Bolder Boulder and won the Le Lion half marathon .

The following year she was fifth in the Houston Marathon , second in the Los Angeles Marathon and set a course record at 2:28:30 h at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon . She also came in sixth in the RAK half marathon and eighth in the Delhi half marathon .

In 2010, after finishing fifth in the Zayed Half Marathon , she won the Osaka Women's Marathon , the Seoul International Marathon and the Göteborgsvarvet . She came third in the Istanbul Marathon . The following year she won the Xiamen Marathon and was tenth in Seoul.

After a year and a half break from competition, she finished second in Istanbul in 2012. In 2013, a third place in the Dubai Marathon was followed by a seventh in the Paris Marathon .

In 2014 and 2015 she won the Istanbul Marathon .

Amane Gobena is 1.65 m tall, married and has one child. She has been looked after by Elite Sports Management International (ESMI) since 2006 .
