Dominik Gläsl

Dominik Gläsl (also Glässl, Glasl; also Dominikus Gläsl ) (born March 21, 1660 in Reichersdorf bei Weyarn ; † April 25, 1731 in Freising ) was a Bavarian builder of the Baroque era .

Life

Dominik was the son of Melchior Gläsl, who lives in Reichersdorf, and the brother of the baroque master builder Caspar Gläsl. He was baptized on March 21, 1660 in Weyarn . He received his training from Lorenzo Sciara when he was building the monastery and church in Weyarn from 1687. In 1701 he worked as a master bricklayer in Zangberg Castle near Ampfing . From 1708 to 1714 he led the construction work on the Sankt Veit monastery after the monastery fire in 1708, before he was appointed court mason to the Prince-Bishop of Freising in 1715. Several works in the Hochstift Freising come from him . His son was the plasterer Thomas Glasl .
