Don't Panic is the fifth studio album by the American pop punk band All Time Low from Towson , Maryland . It was released on October 8, 2012 via Hopeless Records .

All pieces were written by Alex Gaskarth and Mike Green . Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy also took part in the piece Outlines . The album debuted at number 6 on the album charts in the United States and landed at number 9 in the United Kingdom. In the States, the album sold 48,000 times in its first week of sales.

The previous album Dirty Work was released worldwide in 2011 via Interscope Records . In May 2012 the band announced the separation from their record company. On June 1, 2012, the group released The Reckless and the Brave , which could be downloaded free of charge from the band's homepage. A lyric video for the song was released on June 22nd . At the beginning of July the band announced that they were back under contract with Hopeless Records , which had previously financed the band's albums.

On August 24, 2012, the second single, For Baltimore , was released through Alternative Press magazine . The musicians described Don't Panic as their best album to date. Singer Alex Gaskarth said about the album:

"With this record, a big part of the process was finding what made our band special on each of our past records. This time around, rather than taking influence from anything we were listening to at the time — or anything we want to touch on generationally — the goal was to make an album that we felt reflected the best aspects of our previous releases. "

An album announcement trailer was released on August 28, 2012. This trailer featured the tracks For Baltimore , Outlines and Somewhere in Neverland . On October 2, 2012, the album was available to listen to on the label's YouTube channel. Six days later, the album was officially released. The album was produced entirely by Mike Green. The group stopped their tour to work on the album.

On February 1, 2013, the musicians began recording the music video for the piece Somewhere in Neverland , which was officially broadcast on MTV for the first time on March 19, 2013 . The music video for the song Backseat Serenade was first broadcast on May 9, 2013 .

New edition: Don't Panic: It's Longer Now!

On September 30, 2013, Don't Panic: It's Longer Now! released a new edition of the album through Hopeless Records. It contains four brand new pieces as well as four acoustic versions of songs from the first edition of the album.

For the new edition of the album, a single was released on September 2, 2013 with A Love Like War . Vic Fuentes from Pierce the Veil can be heard as a guest musician . For this song, Fuentes was a lyricist.

Reviews

Don't Panic received mostly positive reviews. At Metacritic , the album received a rating of 74 percent. In the AbsolutePunk community it is even 90 percent. The British Kerrang rated the album with 3, Sputnikmusic and Allmusic with 3.5 out of five possible points.

The album was rated 8 out of 10 in Rock Sound and Under the Gun Review . The Alternative Press was also enthusiastic and rated the record with four out of five points. Alter the press! only dropped half a star in their review and Don't Panic received the highest rating from Idobi .
