Dongfang Electric (short: DEC ; Chinese 东方电气 ; former / full name [China] Dongfang Electric [Group] Corporation ) is a Chinese electrical , mechanical and plant engineering - Group . The state enterprise is under the control of the State Council of the People's Republic of China . It is headquartered in Chengdu , the capital of Sichuan Province .

DEC supplies a wide variety of devices , machines and systems , in particular for electrical energy generation and transmission up to complete large power plants, as well as electrical rail transport. Together with the internationally oriented subsidiary Dongfang Electric Corporation Limited ( DEC Ltd. ), DEC is one of the largest suppliers of electrical equipment worldwide.

The subsidiary DEC Limited is a stock corporation (chin. 有限公司, Yǒuxiàn Gōngsī) and is traded on the stock exchanges in Hong Kong (SEHK: 1072) and Shanghai (SSE: 600875). DEC is listed in the SSE 180 share index.

history

The predecessor of the DEC is founded in 1958, Dongfang Electrical Machinery Factory (Engl. Dongfang Electric Machinery Plant , Chinese东方电机厂.). This resulted in the China Dongfang Electric Corporation in 1984 .

In 1993 the China Dongfang Electric Machinery Plant was restructured. This was followed by the IPO of the subsidiary Dongfang Electric Machinery Company Limited (chin. An 电机股份有限公司) on the stock exchanges in Hong Kong (1994) and Shanghai (1995).

In 2007, the Dongfang Electric Machinery Company was merged with the China Dongfang Electric Corporation and now traded as Dongfang Electric Corporation Limited (chin. 东方电气股份有限公司).
