Dorfborn is a part of the municipality of Neuhof in the Fulda district in East Hesse .

To place belongs not to the hamlet of Kahlenberg, who has grown together over the years with Dorfborn. It is separated by the "Alte Heerstraße" in the Neuhof district. However, the outlying Bilandshöfe , Alte Heerstraße 63 and 67, are part of the Dorfborn district .

Geographical location

Dorfborn lies between the Neuhofer district of Ellers and the Neuhofer district of Tiefengruben . Federal highway 40 ran south-east of the village until September 2014 , when the gap on federal highway 66 was closed and turned back into a cycle path. The village is accessed via the Kreisstraße 100. In the northwest, the place borders on the Via Regia , the "Alte Heerstraße". This has been used again as the Camino de Santiago since 2008 . In the east, the Neuhof-Nord industrial park borders the town , which (as of January 2017) is to be expanded to a size of 40 ha.

history

It is an old settlement on an old Franconian road . Closest to your location one was grave mound found. The village was first mentioned in documents in 1450.

Reorganization

As part of the regional reform in Hesse, Dorfborn was incorporated into Neuhof on December 31, 1971.

religion

The parish church of St. Josef der Arbeiter , built in 1956, is now a branch church of the Catholic parish of St. Michael in the main town of Neuhof.
