Tiefengruben is a district of the Neuhof community in the Fulda district in East Hesse .

geography

The street village of Tiefengruben is located in the middle Fliedetal between the Neuhofer district of Dorfborn and the Eichenzeller district of Kerzell .

history

Tiefengruben is located in the area of the Karlmann donation , which the Frankish caretaker Karlmann gave to Bonifatius in 747 . The small settlement "Tifengruba" was first mentioned in a document in 1200. It belonged to the parish Flieden in the archdeaconate of St. Johann in Mainz. In 1560 it belonged to the Neuenberg (Andreasberg) priory as a subsidiary of the Fulda Imperial Abbey . In 1787 it was assigned to the Oberamt Neuhof in Fulda. Tiefengruben was connected to the newly built “Chaussee from Kohlhaus to Neuhof” east of Tiefengruben through the Fliedtal valley by the Fulda provincial administration in 1834. In 1812 it was Neuhof's daughter church. After the end of the Second World War , around 70 expellees from the former eastern German territories , mostly from the Egerland , came to Tiefengruben in 1946 and found a new home here.

Reorganization

As part of the regional reform in Hesse , Tiefengruben was incorporated into Neuhof on January 31, 1971.

religion

In 1757 the construction of the first Catholic chapel in wood construction with the size of 18 feet × 20 feet (≈30 m²) is approved by the episcopal authority under the Fulda prince-bishop and abbot Adalbert II of Walderdorff by Johannes Adam Jordan in "Dieffengüben" . This was demolished in 1850 because it was in disrepair, and in 1851, under Bishop Christoph Florentius Kött, construction of today's branch church of St. Maria began .

traffic

Local public transport is provided by the local local transport company Fulda (LNG Fulda) mbH as part of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund GmbH (RMV) with bus route 50.
