Görsdorf village church

The Protestant village church Görsdorf is a field stone church in Görsdorf , a district of the municipality Dahmetal in the district of Teltow-Fläming in Brandenburg . The church belongs to the parish of Zossen Fläming the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz .

history

So far, not much is known about the building history. The sacred building was probably built in the 14th century and was rebuilt by the parish in the 18th century. 1977 were West Tower and the northern nave located Patronatsloge dismantled; and in 1980 the building was restored.

architecture

The simple church was built from field stones that were not cut except for the corner stones. They are unevenly layered; in the lower area there are sometimes very large boulders . On the south side of the nave, a small, segment-arch-shaped window is installed in the western area. It is set lower than the two other, much larger windows. Abundant plaster was applied around this small opening , so that there may have been a gate at an earlier time. Another repair, albeit a much smaller one, can be found between the two larger windows in the eastern area of the nave. The two windows in the choir were probably enlarged in the 18th century as well. The stones above the openings do not show any irregularities and therefore probably come from the construction period. A narrow opening can be seen in the center of the gable, which is also made of field stones . On the north wall of the nave, the observer notices a large plastered area in the choir area. To the west of this is a large, segment-arched window. The field stones are significantly larger in the lower area than on the rest of the structure. The western wall of the building also has two windows, which are partially covered by a modern extension. This has a rectangular floor plan and a wooden gate on its west side. Like the nave, it has a simple gable roof with red or dark tiles. Below the eaves or the gable, the structure is plastered all around, which indicates a repair to the roof structure. There is a free-standing bell tower to the north of the structure. To the east there is a memorial stone for the victims from the First and Second World Wars .

Furnishing

Pulpit and rear view of the altarpiece

The altarpiece , described as “high quality” in the Dehio handbook, is made of sandstone and dates back to 1581. It comes from the Torgau sculptor Georg Schröter and also served as an epitaph for Michael von Schlieben (died 1572) and his wives Catharina and Elisabeth . It is a foundation of his two sons Otto and Hans and shows in the predella the Last Supper of Jesus and in the main draw a crucifix , which is worshiped kneeling by male members of the founding family. In the side panels of the work, which is based on a winged altar , the two wives are depicted with their six daughters each under their coats of arms. The essay shows the sacrifice of Isaac . The wooden pulpit decorated with carved foliage with a sound cover is comparatively simple and, like the confessional, dates from the beginning of the 18th century. The fifth from the same period is also simple . The inside of the structure is flat covered.
