Dries Leirs (born June 13, 1991 ) is a Belgian ice hockey player who has been with HYC Herentals since 2007 . Since 2016 he has been playing with the team in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League .

Career

Dries Leirs has been with HYC Herentals since the beginning of his career . In 2008 he made his debut for the club from the province of Antwerp in the Belgian honorary division and won the first championship title with him in seven years. In 2012 they even managed to double the championship and cup win . He also took part in the Dutch-Belgian North Sea Cup with HYC Herentals from 2010 to 2012 . After the North Sea Cup was discontinued in 2012, Leirs moved with his team to the Dutch honor division . In 2013 he was able to defend the Belgian Cup with the team from Flanders. Since 2016 he has been playing with HYC in the BeNe League, which was founded the previous year, and was able to win the double from the Belgian championship and cup competition again in 2017

International

In the junior division, Leirs played for Belgium at the U18 World Championships in 2008 and 2009 and the U20 World Championships in 2010 and 2011 in Division II.

For the men's national team , he took part in the World Championships of Division II in 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 .
