Dubréka (prefecture)
Dubréka is a prefecture in the region Kindia in Guinea with about 131,000 inhabitants. Like all Guinean prefectures, it is named after its capital, Dubréka .
geography
The prefecture is located in the west of the country on the Atlantic coast, has mangrove swamps and covers an area of 5,676 km². It used to belong to Coyah Prefecture .
Before and during colonial times, the area of today's prefecture was the location of the Kapitaï der Baga kingdom . Today Khabitaye is a national park with 4,900 hectares, Kapitaï's former capital Yatiya belongs to the sub-prefecture of Khorira .
