EMET price

The EMET Prize (EMET Prize for Art, Science and Culture) is an Israeli prize awarded for achievements in science, art and culture with far-reaching significant effects on society.

Award criteria

It is given to Israeli citizens, or occasionally to foreigners permanently residing in Israel, by a committee appointed by the Israeli Prime Minister, and funded by the AMN Foundation for the Advancement of Science, Art and Culture in Israel , a charitable foundation established in 1999 was founded by the Mexican Alberto Moscona Nisim . The EMET Prize has been awarded annually in five categories since 2002 and is endowed with a total of 1 million dollars. The categories are: Exact Sciences, Biology / Medicine (Life Science), Social Sciences, Humanities and Culture and Arts. A category cannot be awarded in individual years. Sometimes an honorary award was also given.
