The Eberrauten-groundsel ( Jacobaea abrotanifolia (L.) Moench , Syn. : Senecio abrotanifolius L. ) is a plant from the genus Senecio ( Jacobaea ) and belongs to the family of Compositae (Asteraceae). It is also called Eberreisblättriges ragwort or bears herb called.

description

The perennial herbaceous plant with an ascending stem that is woody at the bottom and branched at the top reaches heights of growth of 10 to 40 centimeters.

The middle stalk leaves are two to three times pinnate, with the last pointed sections one to two millimeters wide. The lower leaves are short stalked, the upper sessile. The cup-shaped inflorescence from yellow to red-orange ray and tubular flowers is about 25 to 40 millimeters in diameter. The inflorescence has 21 bracts and 10 to 13 reed leaves . The inflorescences stand in pairs up to eight in an umbellar panicle.

Flowering time is from July to September.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 40.

Occurrence

Rock corridors, dry lawns and dwarf shrub heaths are preferred as locations . The species thrives on warm, moderately fresh, base-rich, neutral, mostly musty-humic, medium-shallow stone soils. It is a pine companion and occurs especially in societies of the Erico-Pinion association. The species is widespread in the Eastern Alps from the canton of Valais to the Northern Balkans .

In Austria scattered from the montane to the subalpine altitude level . Missing in Burgenland and Vienna. In Germany only in the Berchtesgaden Alps .

Systematics and distribution

One can distinguish three subspecies:

  • Jacobaea abrotanifolia (L.) Moench subsp. abrotanifolia (Syn .: Jacobaea abrotanifolia var. abrotanifolia ): With bright orange-yellow ray flowers. She loves lime. The distribution area includes Switzerland , Liechtenstein , Italy , Germany , Slovenia , Croatia , Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina . It occurs in Austria east of Tyrol . The number of chromosomes is 2n = 40.
  • Jacobaea abrotanifolia subsp. carpathica (Herbich) B. North. & Greuter (Syn .: Senecio carpathicus Herbich ): It occurs in Poland , Slovakia , Romania , Ukraine and on the Balkan Peninsula . The number of chromosomes is 2n = 40.
  • Jacobaea abrotanifolia subsp. tiroliensis (Dalla Torre) B. North . & Greuter (Syn .: Senecio abrotanifolius subsp. Tiroliensis (Dalla Torre) Murr , Senecio tiroliensis Dalla Torre ): Western clan with orange-red ray flowers. It occurs in Switzerland, Italy and Austria. It likes to thrive on silicate , in Austria only in the federal states of Tyrol and Vorarlberg as well as in South Tyrol and Liechtenstein . It occurs in societies of the sub-association Rhododendro-Vaccinienion or the association Juniperion nanae.
