Eddie Kaye Thomas (born October 31, 1980 in New York City ) is an American film and stage actor .

life and career

Thomas came from a Jewish family in New York. Thomas became known to the general public in 1999 for his role as Paul Finch in American Pie . He played this role in four parts of the film series. His acting career began long before that - he got his first stage role at the age of seven. In his childhood he also starred in the Four Baboons productions Adoring the Sun (1992) and The Diary of Anne Frank (1997 with Natalie Portman ). He graduated from New York's Professional Children's High School.

Thomas made his television debut in an episode of Horror, Horror, Goosebumps (1994). This was followed by various engagements both in television and in film. He played in two Law & Order episodes in 1996 and 1999 and got a role in the independent film Illtown . He later played a lead role in The Rage: Carrie 2 , as well as in James Toback's controversial film Black and White , opposite Robert Downey Jr. and Jared Leto .

2001 to 2002 Thomas played one of the leading roles with American Pie colleague John Cho in the television series Off Center ; further leading roles in films and guest appearances in series followed. From 2006 to 2008 he played in the sitcom marriage is ... . Since 2010 he has played the role of David 'Kappo' Kaplan in the series How to Make It in America .

From 2005 to 2009, Thomas was Barry's dubbing voice in American Dad . His German dubbing voice is Julien Haggége .

From 2014 to 2018 he played the behavioral psychologist Tobias Curtis as one of the leading roles in the American action series Scorpion .
