Eduard Nitschmann

Carl Ernst Eduard Nitschmann (born May 17, 1836 in Tilsit , † June 5, 1906 in Groß-Lichterfelde ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Nitschmann first studied at the Albertus University in Königsberg and became active in the Corps Littuania in 1855 . On October 1, 1855, he joined the 3rd Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a one-year volunteer . On October 1, 1860, he was second lieutenant in the 5th East Prussian Infantry Regiment (No. 41) in Königsberg . After serving in the training infantry battalion and as a regimental adjutant, he took part in the war against Austria in 1866 as an adjutant of the 20th Infantry Brigade . In 1868 he was assigned to the War Ministry , in 1869 he was promoted to captain and on October 12, 1872, he became company commander in the Lower Rhine Fusilier Regiment No. 39 in Düsseldorf . As a major (since 1876) he was commanded as adjutant to the 15th Division in Cologne . In March 1878 he was battalion commander in the 7th Westphalian Infantry Regiment No. 56 , in 1884 a lieutenant colonel with the staff of the 3rd Posen Infantry Regiment No. 58 and in the same year he was again in the War Ministry, where he took over the management of the clothing department.

Nitschmann became a colonel in 1887 and received the rank and fees of brigade commander on May 22, 1889. On February 15, 1890, he was appointed inspector of the 2nd Landwehr Inspection under position à la suite of the War Ministry. From April 1, 1890 to March 15, 1893, he was major general in command of the 8th Infantry Brigade in Gnesen . He then was awarded the character as a lieutenant general with board for disposition made.
