Eduard Dietrich von Müller (born January 16, 1799 in Schwerin , † September 21, 1885 in Stralsund ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Eduard was the son of the Mecklenburg-Schwerin lieutenant Johann Gottlieb von Müller (1770-1829) and his wife Charlotte Wilhelmine, née von Mühlenfels (1778-1802).

Military career

On October 1, 1814, Müller joined the Guard Jäger Battalion of the Prussian Army as a hunter and was promoted to secondary lieutenant by the beginning of April 1817 . By April 21, 1838 he rose to captain and company commander . Two years after his promotion to major , Müller was appointed commander of the 2nd Jäger Battalion on November 21, 1848 . From January 18, 1853, he was employed as a battalion commander in the 24th Infantry Regiment , and in this capacity Müller became a lieutenant colonel on March 22, 1853 . He was promoted to colonel on June 13, 1854, and was appointed commander of the 19th Infantry Regiment . On June 15, 1857, Müller was transferred to Glogau as commander of the 17th Infantry Brigade , on July 7, 1857, assigned à la suite of his previous regiment, and on May 22, 1858, promoted to major general. On June 3, 1859, he was put up for disposal with a pension .

On the occasion of the German War in 1866 and the war against France , Müller was reused for the duration of the mobilization and served as commander of the deputy 5th Infantry Brigade in Stettin . He died on September 21, 1885 in Stralsund.

Müller married on August 22, 1826 in Cammin Jenny von der Lancken (1803-1880). The couple had several children:
