description
The drive of the vessels is carried out by a four-stroke - six-cylinder - Diesel engine manufacturer's Anglo Belgian Corporation (type: 6DZC) with 1,104 kW power driven via a reduction gear to a pitch propeller acts. The ships reach 10 kn . They are equipped with a bow thruster with an output of 200 kW.
A shaft generator with an output of 232 kW ( apparent power : 290 kVA ) and a diesel generator with an output of 120 kW (apparent power: 150 kVA) are available for generating electricity. A diesel generator with an output of 62 kW (apparent output: 77 kVA) was installed for emergency and port operations.
The relatively flat deckhouse is located in the rear of the ships. The masts of the ships can be folded down so that bridges over rivers and canals can be passed under. The unloaded height of the ships with the masts folded is around 8.7 meters from the waterline. The ships are suitable for travel on the Rhine .
In front of the deckhouse is the hold , which is closed with nine pontoon hatch covers. The hatch covers are moved with the help of a hatch trolley. The hold is box-shaped. It is 56.19 meters long and 9.00 meters wide. The depth of the hold is 6.70 meters. The ships can be equipped with two bulkheads that can be erected at five positions. The vessel under the flag go of the Netherlands are of EemsWerken in Werkendam bereedert and freighted by Amasus Shipping in Delfzijl. The ships' home port is Delfzijl.
The 2007-built Eems Stream (IMO no. 9421623) was sold in 2008 and Albertus F renamed. The ship was sold again in 2013 and has been sailing as the Frisian River for the Boomsma Shipping company in Sneek since then .
"Shore Support" project
Amasus Shipping participated u. a. with the Eems Sprinter and the Rimini in the 2009 “Shore Support” project of the Dutch research institute TNO. The aim of the project was to investigate to what extent ships with propulsion engines with more than 749 kW of power used in coastal traffic require a chief engineer , or whether this position is also carried out by a "maritime officer" who is qualified in both nautical and technical areas, and shore-based technical support that is available at all times. The “maritime officer” could in turn relieve the nautical officers on board through his nautical qualification .
