Ees

Ees (also ees-y EES or EES , born October 5, 1983 in Windhoek , South West Africa , today Namibia ), bourgeois Eric Sell , is a German Namibian musician and music producer . Ees represents a mixture of the music genres Kwaito , Afro-Pop , Reggae and Hip-Hop , which he calls "NAM Flava Music" (Namibian influenced music).

Eric Sell has been a musician and producer since 2001. In 2003 he completed his training as a sound engineer in Cape Town, South Africa . In 2004 EES moved to Germany to advance its career and to make Namibia and modern Namibian music better known in German-speaking countries. His songs are particularly popular with Namibia's youth due to its typically German-Namibian language . He lives in Cologne .

EES is the owner of the music production company "NAM FLAVA Music" and the fashion label "EES WeaR", the vitamin energy drink "WUMA" and the spice blend "Nam Flava Spice".

EEs is largely responsible for the coining of the term Namsläng (also NAM Släng ), which is used by a large number of young German Namibians as a synonym for the German language in Namibia .

Awards

Eric Sell won the Artist of the Year award in 2009 and the Best Rock / Alternative award for Best Rock / Alternative Artist in Namibia in 2008 at the Sanlam NBC Music Awards . In 2011 he won the Namibian Annual Music Awards in the category “Best Artist on the International Stage”.

In 2010 Sell was nominated for "Best Southern African Artist" at the African Music Awards .

In 2012, EES and Mandoza won the Channel O Africa Music Video Award, one of the most important musical awards in Africa, for the song Ayoba .

With the song Satisfaction together with Khetama and Inusa Dawuda , EES reached number 7 in the Polish charts in February 2013 .

In 2018, EES won with its Yes-JA! Band X Factor Germany .

Others

EES wrote, produced and sang Again 'n Again, the official song of the 2010 World Cup from Bild Online . He was also part of the image roadshow for the World Cup. Also at 2010 FIFA World Cup wrote and sang Ees the "Hands up" song, the official World Cup song of the radio station WDR 2 .

In addition to numerous appearances at major events in Africa, EES also performed at the SummerJam 2013 , the Africa Caribbean Festival 2016 , the Keup Charity Event Festival 2004 and the Bremerhaven Summer Festival as well as at the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa.

He made 45 music videos that play on many African channels such as MTV Base , NBC Namibia and One Africa Television . But his videos are also shown in Europe on Put Pat TV , Tape TV and Trace TV .

In June 2011, EES participated in the VOX telecast The perfect dinner part. In January 2014 he took part in the Sat.1 - ProSieben -Show Millionärswahl and reached the final of the best seven. In July 2014 (broadcast 10-14 November 2014) EES brought "The Perfect Dinner - Namibia Special" from VOX to his home country Namibia.

In August 2016 he performed at the Videodays in Cologne with his song "Just Do It", which was created in 2015 on a road trip through Namibia with befriended Youtubers.

On October 19, 2018, he won with “The Yes-Ja! Band ” broadcast the fourth season of X Factor on the private broadcaster Sky .
