Oath (Norway)
Eid was a municipality in the Norwegian province of Sogn og Fjordane (became part of Vestland in 2020 ). Its administrative seat was Nordfjordeid . As part of the municipal reform in Norway , Eid, Selje and the eastern part of Vågsøy were merged to form the new municipality of Stad on January 1, 2020 .
6151 inhabitants lived in an area of 469.21 km² (as of January 1, 2019). The municipality number was 1443. The last mayor was Alfred Bjørlo ( V ).

The municipality was on the Nordfjord . It bordered in the north on Vanylven and Volda , in the east on Hornindal and Stryn , in the south (south of the fjord) on Gloppen and Bremanger and in the west on Vågsøy .
Other places in the municipality included Haugen , Mogrenda and Stårheim .
Geographically, the municipality was shaped by the fjord landscape. In the west and south, parts of the Nordfjord and the entire Eidsfjord belonged to the municipality. In the east, Eid comprised the western half of Hornindalsvatnet , the deepest lake in Europe. There were also smaller mountain lakes such as the Osvatnet . Smaller rivers such as the Eidselva and many streams such as the Presteelva and the Kvernhuselva also flowed through the municipality .
The Nordfjordeid Opera House and the Church of Eid are located in Nordfjordeid .
