Eike-Edzard Bracklo

Eike-Edzard Bracklo (born June 24, 1934 in Tsingtao ) is a German diplomat.

Life

Bracklo studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and became a member of the Corps Isaria in 1954 . After the first state examination in law (1957), he was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD . After the assessor exam (1961) scientific assistant at the LMU, he was drafted into the Foreign Service in 1962 and assigned to the embassies in Beirut (1962) and Lima (1964). From 1968 to 1976 he was in the Foreign Office in Bonn , and in 1971 he was Counselor at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City . After serving as envoy to the embassy in London in 1982 and consul general in Hong Kong in 1988 , he became the first German ambassador to Kazakhstan in 1992 . From 1995 until his retirement he was ambassador to Caracas .
