occupation

A father for burdock is a German TV film by director Peter Kahane from 2003.

action

The nine-year-old child at home, Linda, meets the balloonist Oliver at a Christmas market and gets it into his head that he should be her new father. It towers out of the home and no longer leaves Oliver from his side. Oliver, who loves ballooning and his freedom, tries again and again to get rid of the silent strange girl, but he fails, which is why he calls her burdock . Burdock visits him constantly, which his unloved neighbor also observes. Oliver finally makes Linda talk. She tells him that she will live with her grandmother, who is happy if she is not always at home. Linda also tries to couple Oliver with the nice neighbor, even if he already has a new girlfriend named Jessica. Oliver gets used to living with Klette and also to his neighbor Vera. On Christmas Eve all three sit together at the table in the apartment and everything slowly seems to be developing as Linda hopes. But then the youth welfare office intervenes. Linda is put back in the home. Oliver is not happy that Klette is gone. He decides to adopt Burdock. He turns his life around and proposes to Vera. In the end, Linda receives what she longs for, a father and even a mother, so that she ultimately hopes for a little sibling.
