reception
"Nevertheless, this is a film that impresses with its good color quality, impressive presentation, especially of the main actor Anthony Steffen, and its speed."
"After a few westerns based more on the American model ... Mario Caiano finally created a typical spaghetti western with" Una bara per lo sceriffo ", which has all the important characteristics of this genre."
"UNA BARA is highly recommended for fans of tough B-Westerns, but that applies to practically all of the director's films!"
The evangelical film observer , on the other hand, comes to a devastating verdict : “Typical western of the Italian series, which stylizes a killer as a hero and glorifies violence through brutalities in itself. We refuse. ”(Evangelical Press Association Munich, Review No. 121/1967)
