El baño de la reina, Valsaín is apicture paintedin oil on canvas by the Spanish impressionist Joaquín Sorolla (1863–1923) from 1907. It is 106 cm high and 82.5 cm wide.

It shows a row of pine trees, almost only the bare trunks can be seen, which are reflected in a small stream. The title translates into German as "The Queen's Bath (in the sense of bathroom)". The reproduction of the light effects under the southern sun is typical of Luminismo valenciano , a special form of Neo- Impressionism that emerged from Impressionism in Spain and whose main exponent was Joaquín Sorolla.

The painting was painted during a summer stay of the painter and his family in La Granja, near the Palacio Real , then a summer residence of the Spanish kings in the province of Segovia . The village of Valsaín is also located there . He had spent the summer there commissioning the then 21-year-old King Alfonso XIII. to paint in hussar uniform.

Sorolla's teacher Gonzalo Salvá Simbor (1845-1923) at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos de Valencia was a supporter of the Barbizon School . He tried to bring outdoor painting closer to his students . From 1900, open-air painting was of great importance for Sorolla.

El baño de la reina, Valsaín belongs to the collection of the Museo Sorolla in Madrid .
