Ellen Waldeck

Ellen Waldeck (born August 7, 1901 ; † unknown; occasionally E. Mayer-Waldeck ) was a German actress and radio play speaker .

Life

Ellen Waldeck received training from Max Reinhardt at the drama school of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin . Only after 1945 are theater activities demonstrable. Among other things, she performed at the Städtische Bühnen in Kiel in the 1948/1949 season and from 1951 to 1955 at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg . There you could see her in 1953 as a mother in Jean Anouilh's Jeanne or The Lark and in 1954 as a gypsy in Tennessee Williams Camino Real . This was followed by an engagement at the theater of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen from 1955 to 1967 and again at the Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg from 1966 to 1969 and then to the Junge Theater for the 1970/1971 season . From 1971 to 1980 she was a member of the ensemble at the Hamburger Kammerspiele .

Ellen Waldeck came into contact with silent films as early as 1927 and played a boy role in When people are ripe for love . Later she also worked in some film and television productions . Among them was the feature film Das Sonntagskind by Kurt Meisel with Heinz Rühmann , Hannelore Bollmann , Werner Peters and Günther Lüders .

From 1950 on, Ellen Waldeck was also active as a speaker in a large number of radio plays . This is how she spoke in Axel Eggebrecht's One Pays His Debt directed by Fritz Schröder-Jahn alongside Cay Dietrich Voss , Alexander Hunzinger and Inge Meysel .
