Emil Belzer (born March 18, 1860 in Baden-Baden , † September 18, 1930 in Sigmaringen ) was a German lawyer and politician of the Center Party .

education and profession

Belzer studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau , Munich and Berlin . Since 1880 he was a member of the Corps Hasso-Borussia Freiburg . In 1883 he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD. Belzer entered the judiciary after completing his usual legal training. In 1895 he was appointed magistrate in Sigmaringen . In 1906 he was promoted to the district judge. From 1919 to 1926, Belzer served as district president in Sigmaringen .

Politics and mandates

Politically, Belzer belonged to the Center Party. For this he was a member of the Reichstag between 1906 and 1918 . He was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1906 to 1913 . In addition, Belzer had been a member of the municipal parliament for the Hohenzollern Lands since 1900 . He was temporarily deputy chairman of this body. Between 1919 and 1921 he was (as the successor to Wilhelm Hülsemann ) chairman of the assembly and the regional committee of the Hohenzollern regional association . In 1919, Belzer succeeded in becoming a member of the Prussian state constituent assembly until 1921 . Between 1922 and 1930 Belzer was also a member of the Prussian State Council .
