Emil Höring

Emil Höring (born December 1, 1890 in Westheim ; † February 6, 1976 in Würzburg ) was a German police officer, most recently lieutenant general of the police and SS group leader in World War II .

Life

Höring took part continuously in World War I and was discharged from the army in September 1920 with several awards. He then entered the service of the Bavarian State Police with the rank of first lieutenant , where he was promoted to captain in January 1923 and to major in early June 1933 . In August 1935 he moved from the Bavarian State Police to the Gendarmerie . The Nazi Party he joined in May 1937 at ( membership number 4402533). In the course of the Anschluss of Austria , he took on leading police functions from March 11, 1938 and was inspector of the Ordnungspolizei (ITE) Reichenberg in the Reichsgau Sudetenland from December 1938 to September 1939 .

After the beginning of the Second World War he was from the beginning of October 1939 to December 1939 commander of the Ordnungspolizei (BdO) in the Generalgouvernement based in Krakow and then until January 1942 BdO in Dresden . From January 1942 to May 1943 he was BdO at the Reich Commissioner for the Norwegian Territories occupied by the German Reich , Josef Terboven, with his office in Oslo . From June 1943 to March 1944 he was inspector general of the gendarmerie, protective police of the communities, in the main office of the order police and was then again BdO in Krakow. After that, until the end of the war in May 1945, he was general inspector of the schools in the main office of the Ordnungspolizei . In the last days of the war he followed the so-called rat line north to Flensburg .
