Emily Infeld (born March 21, 1990 in University Heights (Ohio) ) is an American middle and long-distance runner who was third at the World Championships in Beijing over 10,000 meters .

Career

In high school, she won four state championships in Ohio about 800 meters . She then accepted a competitive sports scholarship from Georgetown University with coach Chris Miltenberg , for whom she was second in the 2011 NCAA high school championships over 5000 meters . In 2012 she became indoor champion over 3000 meters of the NCAA, she also came second in the cross championships and over 1500 meters outdoors. After completing her bachelor's degree in 2012, Infeld began training in a strong training group at the Bowerman Track Club under coach Jerry Schumacher in Portland, Oregon . In 2013 and 2014 she suffered two fatigue fractures in her sacrum . At the US Trials 2015, which were held at Hayward Field in Eugene , she finished third in the 10,000 meter run with 31: 42.29 minutes, which also meant qualifying for the 2015 World Championships in Beijing . At the. On August 24, 2015 she won the bronze medal in the 10,000 meter run there with a time of 31: 43.49 minutes . At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she was 11th over 10,000 meters.
