Emmanuel Carrère
Emmanuel Carrère (born December 9, 1957 in Paris , France ) is a French writer , screenwriter and film producer .
Life
Carrère is the son of Louis Carrère and the French historian Hélène Carrère d'Encausse . His mother's cousin is the Franco-Georgian politician and former foreign minister of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili .
Carrère has written around a dozen books since the early 1980s, some of which have won awards. He was also a screenwriter and producer of a number of films for cinema and television. In 2010 he was a jury member for the selection of feature films at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival , and in 2015 he was a jury member at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival .
