Dieter Enno Jürgen Woldemar von Denffer (born December 4, 1947 in Göttingen ) is a German journalist and media expert .

Life

The son of Dietrich and Brunhilde von Denffer grew up in Göttingen and Gießen . During his school days in Giessen, he worked as a journalist and publisher of the school-wide school newspaper “Podium”. After completing his military service as a navigator on a submarine hunter and helmsman on a landing craft , Denffer studied law, social and agricultural sciences in Frankfurt am Main and Giessen from 1969 . In Frankfurt he worked at Thomas Luckmann's institute , studied with Theodor W. Adorno and Jürgen Habermas and assisted in a film production for the Antiteater group led by directors Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Michael Fengler . This laid the basis for his later media education commitment.

In addition to studying and working at the university, Denffer was a freelance journalist and editor in charge of the periodical "Agriculture and Horticulture" of the Mittelhessische Druck- und Verlagsgesellschaft in Gießen. Also in Giessen, as a budding social scientist, he got to know the pioneers of social group work in Germany, Michael Lukas Moeller and Horst-Eberhard Richter . With Moeller and others, he founded the Gießener Arbeitsgemeinschaft Selbsthilfegruppen in 1977 , in which he took on board duties, and then the German Arbeitsgemeinschaft Selbsthilfegruppen , which was to play a major role in the German self-help movement . He wrote a few articles on this, and Moeller also refers to him (e.g. in The War, the Pleasure, the Peace, the Power , see below). When Richter launched the citizens' initiative for peace policy , he started a peace self-help initiative there, which he also wrote about. The best-known is probably his contribution “Peace politics out of self-concern”, which is also available online (see below: “Weblinks”).

Denffer was initially a full-time employee in teacher training at the Medial Teaching and Learning Systems department at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . He then worked as a research associate and lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Giessen University. He was u. a. Media officer of the department and at that time enabled university lecturers and students to produce teaching / learning videos. In 1985 he went to dpa / VWD in Eschborn as a business journalist . There he supervised the introduction of the then spectacular real -time medium VWD-Videoticker , an early forerunner of current news feeds and financial software. His journalistic contributions have appeared both online and in print media , for example in the Handelsblatt .

In the 1990s, Denffer moved back to Gießen, also for health reasons, where he was a full-time media educator for the School 2000 Association and the State Education Authority . In this function he carried out media pedagogical teaching assignments at the Justus Liebig University and for the Office for Teacher Education and organized major media pedagogical events under the title “Off Line”. He also produced a. a. with Fredrik Vahle a video with the song "Dream of Animals" and Dieter Schormann , at the time head of the Association of German Book Trade , and young people a talk show about reading, he presented under the title Generation television a number of television programs and led as CEO of Citizen Media Active eV in charge of the invitation to tender and award of the Giessen Video Film Prize several times . In 2014 he started the publishing initiative "Ewige Edition" in order to u. a.
