Enzo Barboni
Enzo Barboni (born July 10, 1922 in Rome , † March 23, 2002 ibid) was an Italian cameraman and film director who often worked under the pseudonym E. B. Clucher . He was best known for his comedies and western parodies with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer .
biography
After Barboni had served as a reporter for the Istituto Luce on the Eastern Front from 1942 in World War II , he turned to camera work and assisted his brother Leonida . As a camera assistant, he often worked for Václav Vich and director Sergio Corbucci during his sandal film days. In 1961 he became chief cameraman and in this capacity photographed the spaghetti western Django von Corbucci in 1966 .
From 1970 Barboni started his career as a director under the pseudonym E. B. Clucher . After a “serious” start, he was subsequently considered the inventor of the humorous western beating . In 1967 he shot the music western Blue Beans for a Hallelujah ( Rita nel West ) with the singer Rita Pavone and Terence Hill , who switched from the Karl May film to the Spaghetti Western . Clucher then wrote the scripts and also directed the successful films with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill. Apart from the spaghetti westerns, he also concentrated on comedies.
His late attempt to replicate the success of the Spencer / Hill films without the main cast failed in 1994.
