Player career

Adana Demirspor

The beginnings of Talus career are largely undocumented. All that is known is that he was accepted into the professional squad during the 1977/78 season at the southern Turkish first division club Adana Demirspor , the company sports club of the local railway employees. By the end of the season he had played three competitive games for his club. He was among other things in the final second leg of the Turkish Cup against Trabzonspor in the starting line-up. Although Talus Team awarded the trophy to Trabzonspor, one of the greatest successes in the club's history was achieved by reaching the finals in the 1977/78 cup season . In the course of his second season with Demirspor, the 1978/79 season, he won a regular place and was an undisputed regular player and top performer of his team until the summer of 1984. He was an important part of the Demirspors team, which ended the first division season 1981/82 on the 6th place in the table and thus could achieve the best first division placement in the club's history.

Malatyaspor

After his club Demirspor had missed relegation 1st Lig in the summer of 1984 , Talu left the railway sports club after seven years and moved within the league to promoted Malatyaspor . This then unknown and heavily indebted club was from which the early 1980s province of Malatya originating patron Nurettin Soykan bought. As the club's president, he invested large sums in the team and financed the first division in the club's history in the summer of 1984 with the promotion. The club began preparing for the coming season weeks before the official end of the season, immediately after the second division championship was won. The club tried unsuccessfully to sign well-known players from the three big clubs Beşiktaş Istanbul , Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Galatasaray Istanbul . The commitments failed not because of the required amount, but rather because of the fact that none of the stars wanted to play in the province. Ultimately, they were satisfied with the players of the rest of the first division teams and signed Eren Talu in addition to Malik Gençalp , Çetin Aslan , Oktay Çevik , Cavit Kurucu . At his new employer, Talu immediately rose to become a regular player and top performer, played with his club for the first two seasons against relegation and reached sixth place in the table in the third first division season. In these three years Talu received Turkish football well-known players like Fenerbahçe National player Sedat Karaoğlu , Galatasaray National player Metin Yıldız and Adnan Esen , from Gaziantepspor the Shooting Star Bünyamin Süral and Ünal Karaman , early in the season 1986/87 the reigning national goalkeeper Yasar Duran , from Galatasaray the youngster and the national player Ceyhun Güray . With this squad, Talu 'club finished in third place in the table in the 1987/88 season and achieved the best first division placement in the club's history.

Adanaspor and end of career

After Talu started the 1989/90 season at Malatyaspor, he was given up to league rivals Adanaspor in October 1989 . Talu played for the club in his hometown until the summer of 1991 and then ended his career.

National team

Talu's international career began in 1982 when he played for the Turkish U-21 national team .

As part of an EM1984 qualifier against the Albanian national team , Talu coach Coşkun Özarı was nominated for the first time in the squad of the Turkish national team in the autumn of 1982 . In this game he made his international debut. By the summer of 1983 Talu had been nominated seven more times and played six more international matches.

Coaching career

In the summer of 2002, Talu took over the reserve team, known as the A2 team, from Adana Demirspor . After a year he started working for this club as a youth coach and was in charge of various youth teams of this club until summer 2014. In the summer of 2014, he took over as head coach of the local amateur club Adana Büyükşehir Belediyespor .
