Erhard F. Grossnigg (born September 22, 1946 in Linz ) is an Austrian entrepreneur . He has the reputation of Austria's “parade renovator”.

Career

Grossnigg attended elementary school in Linz from 1952 to 1956 and secondary school from 1956 to 1960, also in Linz. From 1960 to 1965 he was at the Linz Commercial Academy . He studied at the University of World Trade in Vienna from 1964 to 1968. He then worked from 1968 to 1974 at the Chase Manhattan Bank in Vienna, New York City , Paris and Düsseldorf . In 1975 Grossnigg graduated. From 1974 to 1979 he was a managing partner of Donau-Finanz Treuhand- und finanzgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG in Vienna. In 1980 he received his doctorate . Grossnigg has been a managing partner of theEF Grossnigg Finanzberatung und Treuhandgesellschaft mbH . Since that time, this company has had the reorganization or restructuring of troubled companies as its business object.

Grossnigg is also a founding partner of Austro Holding GmbH. This holding company holds shares in the following companies (% shares):

The total assets of Austro Holding in the 2015 financial year were EUR 182.4 million.

Grossnigg also owns grosso Holding . This holding company owned, for example, 14.05% of the Linz IT group S&T . Grossnigg sold this stake in October 2016 after Foxconn joined S&T. In January 2017 grosso Holding took over the insolvent Bramscher bedding manufacturer Gebr. Sanders GmbH for 18.5 million euros .

In addition, Grossnigg has owned the Augarten porcelain factory since 2003 .

In the past, Grossnigg was also with companies such as ADEG Austria , Alpine Holding , Delka , Economos, Europapier AG, Forstinger , Frantschach , Funder, Huber Tricot , Kneissl , Leiner / Kika , Leykam , Praktiker , Semper Constantia Privatbank , Wienerwald or Zellstoffwerk Pöls and many other companies involved.

In March 2016, Grossnigg announced that he would retire from operational business in autumn 2016. After his 70th birthday, he will only hold the board mandate in his four foundations: Czerwenka Private Foundation, Gambit Private Foundation, MTS Private Foundation and Rhomberg Private Foundation. Grossnigg is good friends with the industrialist Hans Peter Haselsteiner .
