Erhard Rittershaus

Erhard Rittershaus (born April 27, 1931 in Betzdorf ; † March 12, 2006 in Gran Canaria ) was a German manager and politician . From 1993 to 1997 he was Senator and President of the Authority for Economics, Transport and Agriculture and Second Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg .

On December 15, 1993, the independent Rittershaus moved to the Hamburg Senate and became President of the Ministry of Economics, Transport and Agriculture for the STATT party . After Henning Voscherau's resignation after the lost state elections in 1997 , Rittershaus took over government until Ortwin Runde was elected . Rittershaus also supported charitable causes. From 1979 to 2002 he was a member of the board of directors of the Rauhen Haus , from 1985 as chairman. In 1997, he was awarded silver by the Central Committee of the Hamburg Citizens' Associations of Portuguese People for his diverse commitment .

Rittershaus died after a long illness on March 12, 2006 in Gran Canaria. He left behind his wife, with whom he was married for 44 years, and two daughters.
