Erich Becht (born January 20, 1926 in Frankfurt am Main ; † June 21, 2017 in Buchholz ) was a German jazz and entertainment musician (piano, arrangement, orchestra conductor), producer and pop composer. He also worked under the pseudonym Georg Schatz and together with Wolfgang Neukirchner under the collective pseudonym Adolf von Kleebsattel .

Live and act

Becht, who initially took piano lessons, worked as a pianist with Rudi Kapitän in 1946 and switched to Kurt Edelhagen in 1948 , with whom he stayed until 1950, before arranging independently. Some of his early arrangements such as Unison Bop , Percussion in Bop or Bolero in Bop are considered milestones in German big band jazz. He continued to write occasionally for Edelhagen, for the German All Stars ( Gondel Riff , Festival Riff , 1953), for Heinz Schönberger and for Toots Thielemans , but mainly turned to light music . He worked for Caterina Valente , Bill Ramsey and Ralf Bendix , later for Eberhard Hertel , for Heino , for Marianne and Michael and for Maria & Margot Hellwig . He also worked for the film.

With arrangements like Ich will 'nen Cowboy als Mann (for Gitte ), and compositions like Blau blooms der Enzian or So schön ist Volksmusik , he received 15 gold records and one platinum record. Becht was also honored with the Hermann Löns Medal ; he received a Golden Europe with Heino.
